🎓 1972 – Vision Conceived
Nubian American Advanced College (NAAC) was conceived by Dr. Azhinoto Ozodio Ikpah, Ph.D. in 1972 after experiencing the versatility, adaptability, and innovative nature of American 2-year community colleges in Kentucky, USA
🌍 1981 — Return to Nigeria with a Mission
On returning to Nigeria from Texas, USA, in 1981, Dr. Ikpah believed that the Nigerian education system, being too theory and examination-based, needed reform. He envisioned a model that emphasized hands-on, job-specific learning.
🏛️ Accreditation & Recognition
NAAC obtained the permission of the Lagos State Government, the approval of the Federal Ministry of Education, and the accreditation of the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE). Work is ongoing to secure further accreditations in Nigeria and the USA.
💡 University Village & Online Learning Plans
On his return from Texas, USA, Dr. Ikpah realized that the Nigerian education system was too theory and exam-based. He envisioned a system that would blend theory with practical, hands-on, and job-related learning.
🤝 Support & Expansion Plans
As Chief Promoter, Dr. Ikpah gained the support of revolutionary education enthusiasts. He also envisions a University Village/Park on 200 hectares of land as a permanent campus.
💻 Online Learning & Certification
Plans are underway to provide online courses, certificates, and professional certification programs aimed at closing the gap in credible, quality, and industry-oriented education.

NAAC, as a community (junior) college, is organic and ever-evolving, adapting to the needs of those it serves while retaining its essential elements.
🚀 Ongoing Commitment
NAAC is committed to providing: Associate Degrees (solid undergraduate/intermediate qualifications for those planning to continue to 4-year universities). Two-Year National Diploma Programs in Business Administration, Management, Applied Science, and Applied Art. Job Skills Certificates for those who may not plan to pursue a bachelor’s degree.
